Juan M. Fischer

Doctoral student in the Communication PhD Program at the Universidade de Vigo. His doctoral thesis focuses on quality assessment in live subtitling and the transition toward automation of this process. The idea for this research originated from his Bachelor’s Degree Final Project in Translation and Interpreting Studies. He previously completed a Master’s Degree in Sports usiness Management at the same university, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at the Universitat de les Illes Balears. In the academic field, he has participated in several projects, such as the Vocabulaire panlatin du surf (Délégation générale à la langue française et aux langues de France) and the terminological project ENVIRONMENT, within Terminology without Borders framework of the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission. He is also the author of the publication Planificación estratégica del surf: aproximación económica al caso de Galicia, presented at the IV Congreso Iberoamericano de Economía del Deporte, and is member of the Asociación Galega de Profesionais da Tradución e Interpretación.
